Connections
In the app: Connections
Connections let you link with another person — gently, and only by showing
them a one-time QR link. There is no people search anywhere in Gentleward. Once
linked, each side independently chooses a relationship, what they share (real
name or username, profile picture), and a tiered check-in visibility they
grant the other (none → visible → observe).
A connection can then invite someone into a garden, propose a joint
focus (which only starts once both approve), or share a habit as gentle
motivation — the recipient is reminded to be kind about it; no streaks, no
nagging. For observe-tier links, someone can record a gentle observed
check-in, stored separately and never able to change your own state.
Why it’s here. Regulation is often co-regulation — nervous systems settle in the presence of safe others. But for many AuDHD people, social tools are a source of pressure. So everything here is consent-first, opt-in, and reversible.
A contemplative thread. This is sangha in a small key: companionship on the path, freely chosen, with care for the other’s boundaries built in from the start.
