Cookie Policy
Effective July 21, 2026
Gentleward uses a small number of first-party cookies and browser-storage values. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics.
Cookies we use
Session cookie — a host-only, secure, HttpOnly cookie used to keep the web app signed in and protect requests. It is necessary and normally lasts for the browser session.
“Keep me signed in” cookie (_auds_user_remember_me) — a signed, secure, HttpOnly authentication cookie created when “Keep me signed in” remains selected. The option is selected by default and may be unselected before signing in. The cookie rolls while the service is actively used and expires after up to 60 days. If you unselect the option, authentication uses only the browser-session cookie and ends when that browser session closes.
Theme preference (gentleward_theme) — a first-party preference cookie shared between gentleward.com and my.gentleward.com so both surfaces use system, light, or dark mode consistently. It lasts up to one year.
Other local browser storage
We store the theme preference locally for compatibility, whether this notice was acknowledged, dismissed install prompts, timezone-prompt state, and temporary offline/app state. This data stays in your browser unless a feature needs to synchronize it.
Feature providers
Stripe, Apple MapKit, and Apple push services may set or receive their own technical identifiers only when you open or use those features. Their practices are governed by their policies. Gentleward’s fonts are served directly from its own sites.
Your controls
The sign-in cookies are necessary to provide an authenticated account. You can delete cookies in browser settings, sign out to revoke a session, unselect “Keep me signed in” before signing in, and choose system theme. Blocking necessary cookies prevents sign-in. Because there are no advertising or analytics cookie categories to reject, the cookie notice is informational rather than an opt-in consent banner.
