Subprocessors

These providers process information only for the described operational purpose. Not every provider receives every category of information.
Current production providers
- Cloudflare — static-site hosting, DNS/security delivery, Access authentication for protected staging services, and R2 object storage for user uploads and encrypted backups; email address and technical authentication data may be processed through its United States/global edge network.
- DigitalOcean — cloud infrastructure for the application and PostgreSQL database; account content, database records, and technical request data.
- Resend — transactional sign-in email delivery; email address and message delivery metadata.
- Stripe — subscription checkout, payment processing, invoicing, tax/payment records, and customer portal; account and transaction information.
- GitLab — source delivery and Sentry-compatible production error tracking; technical error, request, release, and limited diagnostic metadata. We configure error reporting to avoid intentionally sending journal or wellness content.
- Apple — optional APNs notifications, Live Activities, passkey platform functions, and MapKit maps; device tokens, map requests, and location shown on a map when you request those features.
Hosting
The application and PostgreSQL database run together on a DigitalOcean Droplet. DigitalOcean provides the underlying cloud infrastructure, while Gentleward configures and administers the virtual machine, application, and database. The database is not DigitalOcean Managed PostgreSQL.
AI processing technology
AI features are configured but not currently available to users. When made available, processing will use a Gentleward-managed Ollama runtime with the open-weight Meta Llama 3.1 8B model. The runtime and model operate within Gentleward-controlled infrastructure; Ollama and Meta do not receive user prompts as service providers merely because their software and model are used. They are therefore disclosed here for transparency but are not third-party subprocessors. Gentleward does not send user content to OpenAI, Anthropic, or another hosted AI API.
