Forgiveness
In the app: Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a private journal for a relationship you’re working on. One ongoing thread per person, written a day at a time: today’s words can be amended, and past days are kept so you can watch how the feeling moves. A blank save quietly clears the day. It is never a worksheet — a few words is plenty. The person you choose stays open in the page even across a reconnect.
Why it’s here. Forgiveness isn’t a single act you complete; it’s a feeling that shifts over time, and sometimes circles back. A day-by-day thread honours that — you’re tracking the movement, not declaring a verdict. And it’s explicitly for you, not for them: nothing is sent or shared.
The psychology. Letting go of resentment is consistently tied to lower stress and better wellbeing — and it’s a process, not a switch. Writing it down, gently and repeatedly, is how the nervous system metabolizes a hurt.
A contemplative thread. This draws directly on mettā and khanti — loving-kindness and patient forbearance. In that view forgiveness is something you cultivate for your own freedom, releasing the second arrow of carried resentment rather than excusing what happened.
